Serbian Ambassador Saša Mart Meets with CEO of the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce to Discuss Strengthening Economic Cooperation

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of South Africa, H.E. Saša Mart, met with Bernadette Zeiler, CEO of the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce, to discuss opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation and expanding trade between Serbia and South Africa.

The discussion highlighted the importance of building stronger economic ties between the two countries, increasing investment and creating new business opportunities for companies in both markets. Particular attention was given to the organisation of business meetings between Serbian and South African companies, with a view to fostering business connections, exchanging information on commercial opportunities and developing concrete initiatives for future cooperation.

Special attention was also devoted to opportunities for greater South African participation in EXPO 2027, which will take place in Belgrade from 15 May to 15 August 2027. The importance of this international event as an opportunity to showcase the economic potential of both countries, promote investment opportunities and establish new business partnerships was emphasised.

The interlocutors expressed their willingness to maintain communication and explore concrete initiatives to strengthen cooperation between the business communities of Serbia and South Africa, with the aim of increasing trade, boosting investment and further enhancing overall economic relations.
