Meeting between the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture of the Republic of South Africa and the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Saša Mart, met with the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Gayton McKenzie.
During the cordial and constructive meeting, the interlocutors discussed opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of South Africa in the fields of sport, culture and the arts, with a particular focus on institutional cooperation, exchange of experience and strengthening ties between relevant institutions of the two countries.
Special attention was devoted to EXPO 2027, the International Specialized Exhibition to be held in Belgrade. Ambassador Mart briefed Minister McKenzie on Serbia’s preparations for this major international event and highlighted opportunities for South Africa’s participation, particularly in the areas of sport, culture and creative industries.
Minister McKenzie expressed interest in EXPO 2027 Belgrade, underlining the importance of such global events for strengthening international cooperation and promoting cultural diversity.
The interlocutors agreed that cooperation in sport, arts and culture, as well as participation in EXPO 2027, represents an important contribution to the overall relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of South Africa, and expressed readiness to continue dialogue and further develop concrete joint initiatives.
