Meeting between the Ambassador of Serbia and the Ambassador of Mozambique – Humanitarian Assistance following Floods

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of South Africa, Saša Mart, met on 19 March 2026 at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Pretoria with the Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique to South Africa, Maria Gustava.

During the cordial and constructive meeting, special attention was devoted to the current situation in Mozambique, which has been severely affected by devastating floods causing significant human and material losses.
On this occasion, Ambassador Mart conveyed the solidarity of the Government and the people of the Republic of Serbia with the people of Mozambique, emphasizing Serbia’s readiness to provide concrete support in these difficult times. In this context, he informed his counterpart that the Government of the Republic of Serbia has decided to allocate humanitarian assistance to Mozambique in the amount of USD 500,000, as a contribution to mitigating the consequences of the natural disaster.
Ambassador Maria Gustava expressed sincere gratitude to the Republic of Serbia for the assistance and support, underlining that this gesture represents a strong expression of friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
The interlocutors agreed to continue working on strengthening bilateral relations, with a particular focus on mutual support and cooperation in challenging circumstances.
