Meeting of the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia with representatives of the UNISA School of Business Leadership (SBL)
The SBL delegation was led by Prof. V. Matli, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, and Prof. O. Ledimo, Academic Director, together with several professors and senior officials responsible for research, digital transformation, investment, partnerships, and academic development.
During the discussions, possibilities for establishing academic and institutional cooperation were explored through student and expert exchange programmes, joint research projects, and closer links between the university and business communities of the two countries.
Ambassador Mart presented opportunities for studying in the Republic of Serbia, particularly for international students, as well as the “World in Serbia” scholarship programme, which brings together students from numerous African countries and reflects Serbia’s traditionally strong ties with African nations.
Special attention was also devoted to the upcoming EXPO 2027 Belgrade, which will take place in Belgrade from 15 May to 15 August 2027. On that occasion, it was emphasized that the Republic of South Africa has been confirmed participation in this important international event.
It was further noted that there is significant room for strengthening economic cooperation between Serbia and South Africa, particularly in light of the planned opening of the representative office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in Johannesburg.
Representatives of SBL presented the work of their institution, which has operated for more than six decades within the University of South Africa (UNISA), one of the most prominent universities on the African continent.
