Gold for the White Eagles Basketball Club from Johannesburg

The basketball team of the Serbian White Eagles club from Johannesburg won first place at the traditional veterans' tournament, SAMBA 2026 DBN (South African Masters Basketball Association), held in Durban on the UKZN Howard College campus from 24 to 27 September 2026. The Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Pretoria, I. Samardžić, also played on the team. This was the 42nd annual SAMBA veterans' tournament. The White Eagles of Johannesburg, made up mostly of players of Serbian origin, have competed regularly at this tournament since 2016 and have so far won numerous gold, silver and bronze medals. KK White Eagles also once played in the South African basketball league. Through their successes they have brought renown to our country in South Africa and earned the title of "Ambassadors of Serbia in basketball," our national sport.
