Ambassador Visits the Serbian Market in Gaborone
On Saturday, 18 July, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Botswana, Saša Mart, visited the Serbian Market held every Saturday on the grounds of the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Gaborone.
Organised by the Serbian community in Botswana, the Serbian Market has grown into one of Gaborone's recognizable weekend attractions, drawing visitors from across Botswana and beyond. The market showcases traditional Serbian cuisine, homemade products, handicrafts and other items that promote Serbia's rich cultural heritage and traditions.
During his visit, Ambassador Mart met with members of the Serbian community and expressed his appreciation for their dedication to preserving Serbian identity while serving as outstanding ambassadors of Serbian culture in Botswana. He emphasized that the Serbian Market represents an excellent example of how an active diaspora contributes to strengthening friendship and people-to-people ties between Serbia and Botswana.
